545,423. Fire extinguishers. LAMBERT, M. V., and JONES, N. C. Nov. 7, 1940, No. 16218. [Class 47 (ii)] A fire extinguisher comprises a portable container 1 for dry powder fitted with means for supplying gas under pressure to a jet 5 placed opposite to but some distance from a discharge outlet 4 provided with a hose 12 and flat nozzle 14. In the form shown the gas is supplied from a pressure bottle 9 carried in a part 7 forming a handle to the appliance. In other forms the pressure bottle is placed in a recess within the container and may be in the form of a cartridge.
