Abstract
540,900. Suspending cables. WAUHOPE, E. June 14, 1940, No. 10336. [Class 36] A clip for suspending, 'for example, the overhead wire from cantenary wires of electric traction systems, comprises a pair of blocks 20, 28 having lugs 22, 23, 24 and 29, 31, 32, respectively, each formed with rectangular-section through-holes which align when the blocks are assembled. A plain or headed tapered pin fastens the upper lugs together, the hole in lug 22 being tapered for this purpose, and a wire is passed through the holes in the lower lugs and functions as a dropper. The lugs 23, 24 of block 20 may be extended and united to form a loop about which a dropper may be mounted, Fig. 7 (not shown), and one of the blocks may have an extension apertured to take a feeder-wire, Figs. 10, 11 (not shown). Each block may have a pair of external flanges between which are mounted the arms of an overline bridge dropper, Figs. 4, 6, (not shown). The blocks may be die castings formed of the same material as the pins and wires, for example, silicon brass.
