[Class 36.] In a device for damping the vibrations of an overhead cable of the type described in the parent Specification, in which a lever w having its ends connected to the cable s is pivoted to a supporting clamp a in such a manner that the pivot e of the lever is eccentrically disposed relatively to the pivot g of the clamp, the lever w is arranged above the cable, as shown. The arms l, l<1> of the lever w may be of the same or different length.
