Abstract

540,691. Meters. BRITISH ELECTRIC METERS, Ltd., COOP; N. B., and WATKINS, B. T. E. April 24, 1940, No. 7399. [Class 27] Price. change mechanism for electric &c. meters comprises an interchangeable toothed wheel e in the gear train between the meter rotor and the runoff run-wheel of the differential mechanism. The wheel e fits non-rotatably on a boss extending from a pinion c and is retained in position by a thumbscrew. The shaft g of the pinion c is carried by an arm h pivoted at j and located in position with the wheels e and b in mesh by a pin l engaging a selected one of a plurality of notches m in a fixed sector n. A resilient finger i can be swivelled to take over the apex of shaft g, and a shutter is provided in the casing to give access to the removable and adjustable parts. The Provisional Specification states that a pair of interchangeable wheels e may be provided, one being changed when alteration of price takes place. This subject-matter does not appear in the Complete Specification as accepted.
