Abstract
538,965. Tubular heat-exchangers. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. March 4, 1940, No. 4048. Convention date, March 15, 1939. [Classes 64 (iii)] and 123 (ii)] A tubular steam boiler or like heat exchanger comprises two groups of Field tubes projecting from headers 5, 5' at opposite ends of a flue 4 through which hot gases flow from a combustion chamber 1 to an outlet 9. The headers may have separate inlet and outlet pipes 6, 7 and they may be connected by concentric feed supply and steam pipes. In a further modification, one of the headers is dispensed with and the inner tubes of the groups are connected together in pairs by junction pieces.
