Abstract
533,927. Additives for dyes. STANDARD OIL DEVELOPMENT CO. Aug. 31, 1939, No. 24988. Convention date, Sept. 27, 1938. [Class 2 (iii)] [Also in Groups V, III and VIII] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that a small amount of a salt of a polyvalent metal containing in the molecule at least one organic acid radical derived from an organic acid having a molecular weight of not more than 120 and at least one organic acid radical derived from an organic acid having a molecular weight more than 120 may be added to dyes and dyed materials to improve adhesivity, and for tanning leather, e.g. prepared skins or furs are finished by treatment with a solution obtained by adding chromic or ferric-acetate oleate and oleic acid or double salts prepared from fish oil acids to naphtha. Wood may be made resistant to termites and fungus growth by treatment with a solution of copper-acetatenaphthenate or mercuric acetate-naphthenate in heavy gas oil. Insecticides and fungicides can be incorporated in the solution. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
