Abstract
The ageing of rubber is retarded by addition to the mix of N, N1-diphenyl-2 : 6, or 2 : 7-naphthylenediamine. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises p also the use as anti-agers of any compound of the general formula R-NH-A-NH-R1, where A represents a naphthalene nucleus, and R and R1 represent the same or different members of the group comprising alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl groups. The aryl nucleus may contain one or more hydroxyl, alkyl or alkoxyl groups. The term aralkyl means an alkyl group having at least one hydrogen substituted by an aryl nucleus. A large number of examples of compounds are included. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
