Abstract

532,951. Conveyers. KING, Ltd., G. W., and KING, D. M. Aug. 2, 1939, No. 22433. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] Chains for conveyer systems &c. comprise alternate links A, B, of U-shape connected by transverse pins 11 and arranged so that successive links are turned relatively to each other through a right angle about the centre line of the chain. The bases of the links are preferably cut away so as to fit between the limbs of the co-operating links and make the chain of uniform width. In the application to a conveyer, the chain is suspended from a fixed rail 17 by means of trolleys 14 carrying wheels 16. The trolleys are formed of two plates held in spaced relation by distance tubes 15, and are provided with pivot pins 20 and link extensions 18 for incorporation in the chain structure. Alternatively, brackets riveted, welded, or otherwise secured to the limbs of the links B may carry the rollers. The lower parts of the trolleys 14 or the brackets have pins 21 to carry the depending clevis, load-bars, pusher dogs &c. associated with the chain.
