Abstract

513,612. Conveyers. KING, Ltd., G. W., and KING, D. M. April 20, 1938, No. 11873. [Class 78 (i)] A conveyer comprises a series of metal plates 10, Fig. 1, which are assembled with the apertures in the lugs 13 of one plate in alignment with the apertures in the lugs 12 of the adjacent plate and hingedly connected by rods 14, Fig. 2, passed through these apertures. The lugs 12 lie beneath the plate and are formed by turning inwardly the ends of a bent over portion 11 of the plate. In a modification each plate 16, Fig. 6, is bent over at one end 17 and at two sides 18. The ends of each end 17 are bent forwardly at 19 and provided with apertures 20 for the connecting rod. The plate may be formed with a stepped portion 22. In further modifications the parts 11, 13, 17, 18 are replaced by members such as angle irons and lugs which are welded to the plate. The conveyer may be disposed in a channel formed in the floor of a workshop with its upper flight in the plane of the floor, and one or more holes may be formed in the plates to receive a drag hook so that an object, e.g. a motor car, can be towed over the floor. Two conveyers may be disposed in parallel channels at such a distance apart that the wheels of a vehicle may be supported by them.
