524,664. Furnaces for heat treatment; endless chain conveyers. LINDNER, H. G., and G.W.B. ELECTRIC FURNACES, Ltd. Feb. 4, 1939, No. 3764. [Class 51 (ii)] [Also in Group XXX] The heat treatment of billets, tubes or other articles 3 of cylindrical cross section is effected in a closed chamber or furnace 1 by supporting them between the rollers 5 of a conveyer 4. The rollers rest upon the bottom 8 of the furnace so that they are rotated by contact therewith and rotate the billets &c. The links 6 of the conveyer are connected at their ends by cross shafts 7 on which the rollers are mounted. The cross shafts may be arranged between the ends of the links. The links may be curved so as to clear the billets &c. The billets &c. may be heated by electric elements 2. Specification 327,476, [Class 78 (i)]; is referred to.
