Abstract
521,644. Concrete piles. RICHES, H. G. G. G. Nov. 22, 1938, No. 33988. [Class 68 (ii)] In a method of sinking concrete piles in which a metal tube 1, which is subsequently removed, is driven into the ground to form a socket for a long precast length 3 which is lowered into the tube, the pile is made up to the required height by casting on to its upper or lower end one or more relatively short tubular precast sections 8. The upper end 6 of the main precast length 3 may be enlarged and the bonding may be assisted by overlapping reinforcement 4, 5, 9.
