Abstract

525,548. Concrete piles. HOOD A.. and BRITISH STEEL PILING CO., Ltd. Dec. 21, 1938, No. 37173. [Class 68 (ii)] A concrete pile may be formed with an expanded part at the foot or other part by providing a separable preformed sectional unit 4 which is maintained in its compact form while it is being lowered into the ground, as by a binding 9, and is then expanded by blows applied to its upper end, the binding 9 being thereby broken. The inner ends of the projection 5 are bonded to the concrete of the pile. Specification 385,647 is referred to.
