Abstract
520,864. Map holders; protractors. BRITISH AIRWAYS, Ltd., and McMILLAN, A. R. O. Nov. 2, 1938, No. 31752. [Class 146 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] A holder for a strip map consists of a box receptacle 1 having a window 7 and a protractor mechanism, with variable basic position. The map is wound on a spool with knobs 5 and at its end is coupled, as by a slot 6, to a winding- spool 2 with knobs 4. The case is in two parts hinged at 19 and has a hinged drawer 25 carrying a time-piece embedded in sponge rubber. The case also carries a pencil 20, indiarubber 21 and a stamp 22 with inking-pad 23. A protractor arm 16 has a knob 17 and a worm-wheel 15 engaging a worm 14 sliding on a cruciform shaft 13 coupled by bevel wheels 12 to a shaft 10 having knobs 11. Shaft 10 is threaded through a sleeve 9 having an angulation scale 8 visible through a window 18. Specification 520,865 is referred to.
