Abstract

520,608. Floor-polishing apparatus. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and BOCOCK, W. A. Nov. 15, 1938, No. 33207. [Class 138 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A vacuum cleaner of the type fitted with a rotary brush or beater in the nozzle is fitted with an attachment comprising a frame having brushes mounted thereon which are driven from the motor of the cleaner and rotate about vertical axes. As shown, the nozzle brush is replaced by a shaft 3 fitted with gears 4 which drive crown wheels 8 on the brushes 7. The brushes 7 may be driven by friction discs engaging the shaft of the nozzle brush.
