Abstract

477,799. Toothbrushes. ROBINSON, R. C. Dec. 22, 1936, No. 35202. [Class 19] An electrically-operated toothbrush is characterized in that the brush is carried in an attachment D bent through an obtuse angle from a handle A, and the brush is carried by a clip J and is provided with a cup L to prevent tooth paste and other impurities entering into the working parts. A motor B is housed in the handle A or an independent electrical drive may be provided. The attachment D has a flexible or geared driving shaft E the end of which F is square to fit the end of the main shaft G. Bevel gears I are mounted in a housing H and the clip J holds the brush K. The lower end of the attachment D is split into four parts each part having a small pad adapted to spring into a recess in the handle A.
