Abstract
505,716. Handle fixings. HOFFMANN, H. April 28, 1938, No. 12654. [Class 61 (i)] A handle 1 is secured to a brush 2 by means of a resilient spring steel &c. sleeve 3 which grips inside the socket in the brush head and holds the handle by resilient action only. The sleeve may be slit at 7 and conically widened at one or both ends or along its length and a ring may be employed to contract the end of the sleeve as it is being driven into the brush socket. Instead of being slit, the sleeve may have longitudinal corrugations as at 8, Fig. 10, to give the resiliency and metal bushes 9, 10 may be provided on the handle end and in the brush socket.
