Abstract
519,567. Pipes and tubes. JONG, E. M. DE Jan. 26, 1939, No. 14969/38. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Groups VIII and V] Woven glass fabric is impregnated with rubber solution or latex, coated on one or more surfaces one or more times with a rubber mix, as by spreading, and vulcanized. The coating may be dusted with bronze or aluminium powder after application. A plurality of layers may be impregnated and coated and the whole vulcanized together. The material may be produced in sheet, tape or tubular form. Moulded articles may be made by introducing the impregnated fabric into a mould containing a rubber mix and applying pressure to coat and vulcanize the article. The product may be used in making damp-courses, clothing, e.g., waterproofs, belting, vehicle tyres, electrical insulation or screening material. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 482,774 [Group VIII].
