Abstract

518,217. Luminairs. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUBBOLID, S. Aug. 9, 1938, No. 23459. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] An electric lighting fitting for shop display counter illumination comprises an elliptical reflector 1 directing light from a source located at one focus 6 through an aperture 10 or clear portion of an indirectly illuminating reflector 7. The clear or apertured portion 10 of the reflector 7 has a diameter or width less than the maximum diameter or width of the elliptic reflector and is arranged near the other focus 9 of the elliptic reflector. A flared extension 11 may be provided at the aperture 10, and upwardly flared cover 2 may enclose the lampholder 3. The lamp, bulb 5 may be arranged horizontally.
