[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A street lamp for producing a maximum intensity of the light at a great angle, e.g. 75‹ to the vertical comprises a linear light source 1, a trough reflector 3 shaped to direct the light into two par allel beams at about 65‹ to the vertical and a prismatic glass bowl 4, with prisms 5 parallel to the source, refracting the light upwards through about 10‹. 6 are diffusing flutes.
