Abstract
518,162. Photographic diazotype layers. KALLE & CO., AKT.-GES., POSER, G. VON., SCHMIDT, M. P., and WERNER, G. Aug. 15, 1938. No. 10010/39. Convention date, Aug. 20, 1937. Divided out of and addition to 518,129. [Class 98 (ii)] Light sensitive layers contain resorcin- or pyrocatechin - dialkylether - diazosulphonates in which the diazo sulphorate group and the two alkoxy groups are so arranged that two and not more than two are adjacent to one another, the bodies containing no amino substituent. For example methyl and ethyl ethers of 2:4- or 3:4- dioxybenzene diazo sulphonate or their substitution products may be used. The bodies may contain no additional substituents or may contain substituents such as halogens, e.g., chlorine or bromine, and alkyl groups, e.g., methyl or ethyl groups. In an example, paper is coated with the sodium salt of 2:4-diethoxy-5-chlorobenzene-diazo sulphonic acid, phloroglucine and sodium pyroracemate. The diazo sulphonate may be replaced by 2:chloro-4:5-dimethoxy-benzene diazo sulphonate. To produce increased contrast a filter containing p-aminodiphenylamine may be used during printing.
