Abstract

517,249. Bobbins. FELDMUEHLE AKT.-GES. VORM, L. SCHOENFELD & CO., ROPSCHACH. Sept. 1, 1938, No. 25565. Convention date, Sept. 9, 1937. [Class 120 (iii)] A bobbin for the reception of freshly spun rayon &c. comprises a cylindrical body part with a rim at each end, the body part being provided with grooves which run from end to end of the body and are open at their ends when the bobbin is filled with material; the grooves may be arranged longitudinally or spirally of the body. As shown in Figs. 1, 3 and 5 the grooves 1 are formed between longitudinal ribs 6 on a cylindrical body 2 and are aligned with holes through the rims 3, 4. The body 2 may stop short of the flanges so that the grooves communicate with the inside of the bobbin or the grooves may extend through the body in the form of slots, Fig. 2, the ribs 6 being connected at their ends by the rims. The bobbin may be moulded or formed of sheet metal, the cylindrical part in the latter case being corrugated to form the grooves and formed with holes leading from the grooves to the interior of the bobbin. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 306,206, [Class 120 (iii)].
