Abstract
513,894. Joints for tubes. , MILLS, Ltd., EXECUTORS OF J. and MACBETH, A. Jan. 24, 1938, No. 2222. [Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group X] A clamp for joining tubes together, end to end, comprises semi-cylindrical sleeve members 9, 10, with flanged edges, and two U-shaped clamping bands 11, 12 with clamping bolts 14 disposed across their free ends, the bands and bolts being adapted to enter slots in the flanges of the sleeve members and the bands being slotted to interfit with these flanges. An intermediate plate 17 with projections 17a to engage apertures in the sleeve members may be used to position the ends of the tubes. For allowing tubes of different diameters to be joined together, an adaptor comprising semicylindrical members 23, Fig. 7, with ribbed surfaces, may be used inside the main sleeve members.
