Abstract

489,585. Scaffold clamps. KINGSMAN, H. E. April 29, 1937, No. 12247. [Class 20 (ii)] A tubular scaffolding comprises steel tubes formed with a series of recesses, and brackets or connectors having sleeve portions to encircle the tubes and provided with projections to engage these recesses, whereby slip between the tubes and sleeves is obviated and a considerable range of adjustment of the brackets along the tubes is provided for. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the tubular member 1 is provided with a series of recesses 2 and one member 4 of a two part clamp is provided with corresponding projections 8, clamping being effected by a bolt 9. The clamping members 5, 6, for the other tube may also be provided with projections to engage recesses in that tube. In another form, Fig. 3, the clamping member 10 is made of bent sheet metal and the projections 8 are formed by indenting the metal.
