Abstract

512,894. Posts. SHAW, P. March 15, 1938, No. 7959. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group XVIII] A road traffic sign comprises a solid or tubular rubber post A, Fig. 1, provided with one or more helical springs B completely embedded in the rubber, and fitted with reflectors D mounted in holders secured, e.g., by wires, in the post or in a rubber cap or head attached to the post. Fig. 5 shows a portion of a rubber panel H secured to the top of a post, in which the reflectors D are secured in holders d' the panel being reinforced by a perforated metal plate b. Wires or metal strips may be embedded in the rubber adjacent the reflectors to prevent their removal by cutting the rubber.
