Abstract

508,498. Pipe joints. BRITISH STEEL PILING CO., Ltd., and HILEY, A. Dec. 31, 1937, No. 36244. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint for the sections of piling tubes shoulders 4 on a sleeve 10 divided longitudinally into two or more parts engage collars 6, 7 on the tube ends. The collar 6 is screwed on to the tube and is keyed at 13 to the sleeve which is rotated to force the tube ends together. The engaging faces of the shoulders and collars are undercut. A projection 14 on one tube end engages a recess in the other tube.
