Abstract
507,033. Window blinds. EGLI, A. Sept. 30, 1938, No. 28489. [Class 20 (iii)] An outwardly-opening casement window is provided on both the inside and outside of the window sashes 3 with guide-rails 4, 5 for a roller blind so that, whether the sashes are open or closed, the blind can be guided in rails on the sashes ; further, the blind is provided with strips 13 adapted to co-operate with flanges 12 on the rails 4, 5 so as to retain the blind in the guides both when the sashes are open and closed. The guides 4, 5 on each sash are disposed at exactly the same distance from the centre 6 of rotation of the sash, whereby, both when the sash is open and closed, there is provided a continuation of the fixed guides 2 on the window frame. Each of the rails 4 may be subdivided into two or more parts articulated together ; the lower part of the rail 4 shown in Fig. 1 is supported upon a hinge 7, whereby the guides and blind can be pushed outwardly to an inclined position by links 8, 9.
