506,109. Valve modulating circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. July 1, 1938, No. 19613. ,Convention date, July 3, 1937. [Class 40 (v)] A modulation circuit arrangement comprises two valves with at least three grids, the carrier frequency being applied between the cathodes and control grids 1, 1a in parallel, while the modulating frequency is applied to the distribution grids 3, 3a, in push-pull. Modulated output is taken off, by means of the push-pull or divided primary transformer T, from the anodes and positively biassed grids 2, 2a the output circuits of each valve being cross-connected in parallel.' The degree of carrier suppression obtained in the output is controlled by the bias of grids 3, 3a. This circuit has the advantage over a single valve arrangement that each half of the output transformer is loaded with both a screen grid and an anode, and differences in their internal impedances do not produce unequal loading of the two halves. The ends of the output transformer may be connected to another positively biassed grid located between grids 2 and 3 in each valve. Specification 491,805 is referred to.
