504,081. Doubleglazed insulating- windows. HUNTER SASH CO., Inc. May 10, 1938, No. 13916. Convention date, March 17. [Class 20 (iii)] A heat - insulating double - glazed window particularly for vehicles comprises a doublechannel frame having a central partition 11 and passages 20 communicating with the space between the panes and provided with cartridges 18 of hygroscopic substance, e.g. activated alumina silicagel, or calcium chloride, in a foraminous covering. The rib 11 has glass-supporting shelves 12. Resilient flexible strips 16 engaging the shelves and sides of the frame seal the space between the panes. The frame is secured to the vehicle body by integral flanges 22. The space between the sheets communicates with the hollow frame by passages in the central partition or in the shelves.
