Abstract

503,085. Discharge apparatus. BAYFORD, L. J. Sept. 29, 1937, No. 26330. [Class 39 (i)] An electrode, or a support therefor, is connected to, or supported by, a seal of the envelope of the discharge device through interengaging members, which consist of a wire helix and a screw-threaded member secured to the seal and to the electrode or its support. A mosaic electrode 9 is provided with nickel helices 11 which are adapted to engage with screwthreaded members 7 on the nickel leading-in wires 4. After each member 7 is screwed into a helix 11, the tube 12 is collapsed on to the glass 3 of the seal. The leakage path of the seal is increased by sleeves 8 and the helices and threaded members may be tapered, and may be made of resilient material to form an antimicrophonic mounting.
