Abstract
502,453. Fence posts; ground anchors. WAY, W. E. T., and CUBBON, J. F. June 13, 1938, No. 17510. [Class 45] A support for fence posts comprises a concrete &c. foundation having a face 1, to which the post may be secured by bolts passing through apertures 5, with ridges 2 to hold the post substantially out of contact with the base. A step 4 supports the base of the post. The ridges may be horizontal, inclined or discontinuous, or may be replaced by projections, and may be produced by moulding metal members into the surface of the concrete. The member may be associated with a metal reinforcement of the concrete. In the form shown in Fig. 5, a concrete post of full height is formed with ridges 12 against which battens 13 are clamped. The battens are notched at 16 to take arris rails.
