1,214,157. Fencing. G. LOSSERAND-MADOUX. 24 Nov., 1967 [25 Nov., 1966; 14 Sept., 1967], No. 53692/67. Heading E1B. A fence comprises ground engaging reinforced concrete bases 1 embedded in concrete, reinforced U-section wall members 2 secured thereon by mortar in grooves 1c, 1d, le and fencing panels p<SP>1</SP> the tubular uprights of which engage spigots or sockets 2a on the members 2. At the end of a fence half a base 1 is formed integral with a gate post. Stepped base members 1 are provided for erecting fences on sloping ground. The anchor elements may have shoulders over which the U-section elements engage and may be each supported on a foundation comprising a static supported on beds of sand in a shallow trench. In alternative constructions the bar wall elements are rectangular and are received in U-section grooves in the anchor elements. The low wall elements may comprise two spaced panels which are connected by cross-braces, each panel resting on shoulders on the anchor elements and being grouted thereto, and the space between the panels being filled with soil. tegral with a thicker ground-engaging portion 2 of circular cross-section. The portion 2 has ground-anchoring formations 4, 5, while the blade 1 has weakening grooves 6 to allow bending on impact.
