Abstract

501,952. Folding seats, tables, &c. PRUDENZANO, R. March 1, 1938, No. 6384. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] The main members of a collapsable table, stool, chair, &c. are of L-section, the secondary members hinged thereto or sliding thereon being housed, when the' article is collapsed. within a hollow parallelopiped formed by the main members. In one embodiment, Fig. 4, a table comprises four leg members 21 ... 24, connected by pairs of ties 25 pivoted to each other at the centre, the upper ends being pivoted to the legs and the lower ends adapted to slide thereon being fixed to guides 27. The top comprises wooden members 31 ... 36, Fig. 7, hinged together and adapted to, fold into a rectangular tube which may house the frame and other articles of furniture. The top is provided with holes which fit over pins provided at the top of the legs. In another embodiment, Fig. 1, a chair is composed.of two back L-section members 13, 14 and two front members 11, 11<1> and 12, 121, hinged to form seat supports in the open position. A cloth seat may be provided which is also housed within the main members when the chair is collapsed.
