490,344. Convertible and tandem bicycles. RAMSEIER, M., and EICHE, R. Dec. 21, 1937, No. 25411. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1936. [Class 136 (iii)] In means for forming a tandem bicycle from two solo bicycles by removing the rear wheel from one and the front wheel, fork, and handle-bar from the other, the head member of the latter bicycle is divided to form a hinged clamp i, which, after the removal of the steering-pillar, fork, and front wheel, is clamped around the seat tube h of the other bicycle which forms the front of the tandem, the rear fork ends of the front bicycle being secured by a bolt o to a projection on the front down tube k<2> of the rear bicycle. The rear bicycle is provided with a double sprocket wheel q, ql for the two chains of the driving- mechanism.
