Abstract
487,665. Knitted fabrics. HOSIERY DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd., and MILLS, R. K. Dec. 18, 1936, No. 16917. [Class 74 (ii)] In a fabric having locked or tied stitches of the type described in Specification 329,098, [Class 74 (ii)], the length or size of the stitchlocking loops is greater than that of its associated stitch loop to such an extent that on release of the latter, e.g. by fracture of a subsequently formed loop 3, the long locking loop 2b maintains a connection between the stitch loop 1b and the next previously formed stitch loop 4. The locking thread may be substantially evenly divided between the stitch wales and sinker wales and the length of stitch thread and stitch locking thread may be in the ratio of 10 to 11.
