Abstract

475,965. Knitted fabrics. HOSIERY DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd., and MILLS, R. K. May 25, 1936, No. 14705. [Class 74 (ii)] Flat or selvedged knitted fabric embodying locked or tied stitches has a selvedge whereat thread extending from the end of one course of loops to the beginning of a subsequent course is knitted to form one or more stitches which intermesh with previously and subsequently formed stitches. As shown in the Figure, the yarn extending from the last locking course b is carried over additional needles N<3>, N<2>, N<1> which are operated to draw a single loop, a double loop and a single loop respectively through previously formed selvedge loops. Specification 463,618 is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes also a method of forming the selvedge when three thread carriers are individually selected for thread laying at successive courses.
