Abstract

484,218. Valve amplifying circuits. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and PERCIVAL, W. S. Nov. 9, 1936, No. 30427. Addition to 448,421. [Class 40 (v)] In a valve amplifier circuit of the cathodefollower type as described in the parent Specification, the cathode of the valve is isolated from the output circuit in respect of D.C. or low frequency voltages by feeding the latter through a path to the output which byepasses the valve. Thus in the Figure, D.C. and low-frequency voltages are fed directly to the output 8 over resistance 5, while the higher frequencies are applied over condensers 4 and 6. Resistances 5 and 7 are adjusted to compensate for attenuation of the higher frequencies due to the amplification of valve 1 being less than unity. The valve 1 may be a screen-grid valve and the circuit can be usedas a low-frequency attenuating circuit; condenser 6 and upper terminal 8 are then connected to an adjustable tapping on resistance 7.
