482,861. Enamels and glazes. KREIDL, I. July 31, 1937, No. 21304. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1936. [Class 56] A method of preventing the discolouration of enamel, due to the presence of organic substances or impurities in the materials, consists in introducing into the enamel, at any stage before firing on to an article, a small quantity of a compound of at least one metal of a group consisting of iron, cerium, uranium, antimony, and arsenic. The quantity of the metallic compound used should not exceed 1 per cent in order to prevent any colouration of the enamel by the metal.
