Abstract
477,504. Lawn-mowers. EBERHARDT, D. F. April 2, 1937, No. 9396. Convention date, April 4, 1936. [Class 6 (ii)] A machine for cutting small grass plots &c. comprises a frame 1 provided with a central longitudinal handle 13 and carrying a rotary cutter 2 driven by hand and provided with one or more blades 3 cooperating with a fixed cutter, two supporting rollers 11, 12 being mounted behind the cutter 2. The blades 3 have inclined cutting edges, and the fixed cutter is somewhat resilient and is carried by a cross-bar below the cutter 2. The operator drives the cutter 2 by means of a crank 10 and gearing 7, 8, 9. The rear roller 12 is adjustable vertically to regulate the cut. A cutter guard is fixed to a cross-beam 15.
