Abstract

476,980. Cans &c. CROWN CORK & SEAL CO., Inc. Jan. 19, 1937, No. 1620. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1936. [Classes 66 and 125 (iii)] A can or like container is formed with a reduced mouth portion 14 terminating in an inwardly directed - hollow bend 18, a groove 16 and shoulder 15 being provided at the lower end of the reduced portion. The cover 21 is formed with an annular groove 23 engaging over the bend with or without the provision of a gasket 27, the skirt portion 24 terminating in an outwardly rolled bend 26 which may be indented in the groove 16 at spaced positions to lock the cover in place, opening being effected by the application at these points of a prising tool bearing on the shoulder 16.
