Abstract

368,532. Closures for tins, boxes, &c. BIFFI, E., 6, Via Cernaia, Milan, Italy. March 19, 1931, No. 8441. [Classes 66 and 125 (iii).] The metal cover 2 of a tin, box, or like container is formed with a tear-away ring 3<1> determined by an annular weakening channel 4 swaged on the inner face of an outwardly-projecting bead 11 which is pressed on to a similar bead formed on the body of the tin to effect the closure, the ring being divided by a cross-cut 5 into two parts one of which terminates in a perforated lug 6. A packing ring 9 is interposed between the cover and the rolled upper edge 10 of the tin.
