Abstract

476,971. Piston - extrusion apparatus. KLIMES, V. June 22, 1936, No. 17349. Convention date, June 21, 1935. [Class 102 (ii)] [Also in Group XV] A piston-extrusion device, serving as a writing-instrument for use with viscous ink, comprises a piston, for applying pressure to the ink, supported by a spring acting against an element adapted to screw into the outer casing, and a marking- element adapted to be pressed inwardly during use to permit the flow of ink. The marking- element 2 is preferably in the form of a ball mounted to rotate freely in, but not to escape from, the front end of a nozzle 1 to which is connected a reservoir 5 and an outer casing 12. A cap 14 screws into the outer casing and bears against a rod 7, the lower end of which engages the spring 8 supporting the piston 9. By screwing the cap inwardly, the ball is caused to close the aperture in the nozzle 1. Alternatively, the marking-element may be in the form of a pin. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the piston-rod is screwed and is actuated by a rotatable section at the rear end of the barrel. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
