Abstract
423,135. Fountain pens; styles. LAFOREST, J., 148, Rue HochÞ, Colombes, and PIGNON, J., 20, Rue des Postes, Aubervilliers, both in Seine, France. March 1, 1934, No. 6647. Convention date, March 1, 1933. Addition to 411,016. [Class 146 (iii)] The marking-instrument described in the parent Specification is modified by arranging that the abutment 19 for the ball valve 8 is adjusted axially without rotation by means of a control member 16 which screws into the end of the rod. The abutment 19 is held against rotation by projection 20 which engage in slots in the tapering end of the barrel 1. The control member 16 is secured in the end of the tube 9 which is rotatable in the barrel 1 but is held against axial movement by a shoulder 10 and packing- members 11, 13 acting also to render the barrel ink-tight. The air-tube 32 is constricted at its rear end so that ink cannot pass, and is secured to the tube 9 by a cap 30 carrying a washer 31 closing the end of the tube 9. A sleeve 27 and lock-nut 28 are screwed upon the tube 9, and between them carry a spring 34, the end of which is adapted to engage an aperture in a ring 33 which is a frictional fit in the end of the barrel and in which the sleeve 27 is rotatable. The ring 33 is adjustable in the barrel and may be set so that its aperture is in position to be engaged by the spring when the abutment 19 has been set correctly for permitting a normal flow of ink.
