[Class 126] In a convertible solid-fuel and gas fire, a frame h carrying radiants i is pivoted to side cheeks d mounted on a base c which supports a fixed gas burner e, f and to which is attached the front plate a of a solid-fuel grate, this arrangement permitting the frame h to be swung from its service-position above the plate a to the position shown in Fig. 3 in which the radiants i face the ash space j. Covers k, l are provided to enclose the radiants when in their out-of-service position. The downward movement of the frame h is retarded by the engagement of a resilient strip m with a roller n on the frame, and is limited by a spring stop o mounted on the base c.
