Abstract

Gas fires.-In a gas fire, of the type adapted to be fitted in a firegrate, and having a rearwardly-extending part capable of resting on the grate bottom, this part is integral with, or directly attached to and supported by, the burner tube. In the gas fire shown, the burner tube 2 extends between side members 1, and is formed with integral rearwardly-extending arms 17 carrying a slotted bar 18 which is bolted to the grate. A plate 6 is attached to the side members in front of the burner tube, and carries depending slotted arms 15 to which is secured a plate 14 which supports the front of the fire and is adjustable in height. The side members 1 are formed with flanges 8 which abut against the front of the grate, and with inclined wings 9 which fit against the inclined firebrick sides. An inclined fireclay back 10 is retained between lugs and flanges 11, 12 on the wings 9. For use with a well-grate, detachable leg members 26, Fig. 7, are secured to the bar 18. A trivet, not shown, may be pivoted to the top of one of the side members.
