Abstract

476,170. Rove-stop mechanism for spinning &c. machines. FAIRBAIRN LAWSON COMBE BARBOUR, Ltd., BELL, W. M., and ANDERSON, jun., J. K. May 28, 1936, No. 15051. [Class 120 (ii)] In spinning and like machines a detector lever 2 normally supports a rod 3 which engages an arm 4a of a clutch-member 4 pivoted at 4c on a member 7 which loosely spans the roller shaft 6. The clutch-member 4 is provided with teeth 4b, which, when the arm 4a is released by the dropping of the rod 3 upon the movement of the detector 2 when the thread breaks, engage the flutings of the roller 5 so that the member 7 is rotated to engage a corresponding member 8 on the shaft of the roller 10 by means of a cam 7a and separate the rollers and, at the same time, to nip the roving between a projection 4d on the clutch member 4 and a recess 8b in an arm of the member 8.
