Abstract
474,565. Metallic-vapour apparatus. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES. March 13, 1937, No. 7409. Convention date, March 13, 1936. [Class 39 (i)] To facilitate starting, the liquid cathode, e.g. a mercury cathode, is heated by an alternating magnetic field which may be generated by a coil 5 housed within an iron casing 6. An iron member 7 is arranged in the cathode and slots in the casing reduce eddy currents therein.
