Abstract
468,425. Spark-preventing in switches. LANDIS & GYR AKT.-GES. Oct. 2, 1935, No. 27166. Void. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1934. [Class 38 (v)] In an arrangement for the control of incandescent lamp and similar circuits as shown in the Figure, on switching on, the contacts 4, 5 are first engaged, bringing the carbon pile resistance 6 into circuit with the lamp or lamps. The carbon pile resistance is then subsequently compressed to decrease its resistance after which the main contacts 1, 2 are brought into engagement. These contacts may be operated by hand or automatically under control of a time or temperature relay.
