Abstract

466,100. Thermionic valves. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BOYLAND, D. A. April 7, 1936, No. 10281. [Class 39 (i)] [Also in Groups XXII and XI] In welded structures such as a cathode or grid in a large thermionic valve and which are composed of a number of wires or rods 1, 1<1>, parallel over a great part of their length, the ends 5<1>, 5 of the rods are bent at right angles to be welded to a common disc 4 ; by this construction the long parts of the rods are not distorted during the welding operation. The lower ends of the rods are welded to supports 2, 2<1>. The disc 4 may be replaced by a set of rods insulated from each other ; the rods 1, 1<1> can then be arranged in series.
