[Class 122 (i)] A piston-ring expander comprises a band 5 having circumferentially spaced sets of superimposed spring leaves 6, 7 preferably bent up from opposite edges of the band. The extremities of two adjacent leaves 6 may engage notches in the piston ring to prevent relative movement. Specifications 456,038 and 457,628 are referred to.
