Abstract

493,479. Piston-rings. McFALL, T. E. Oct. 5, 1937, No. 26972. [Class 122 (i)] A split or segmental ring 3 is expanded by leaf springs 7 having their ends bent over to engage the bottom of the groove. The springs are arranged in pockets 6 between abutments 4 and the springs adjacent the ends of segments are of stronger construction. In a modification the end springs are of the form shown in Fig. 8.
